They say Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the new day. Needless to say I tried to catch the sunrise on a clear Friday morning. Getting up early is not really for me, but I was highly rewarded for it. Just before 6am I made it to Wainui Beach and I could see the red haste introducing the sun of the new day somewhere in the distant Pacific. And there suddenly she was! In all her beauty, majesty and strength. The sun of the new very young day, and I was one of the first persons on this planet to see it.
